Sydney`s Frozen Custard in Grand Marais

Amazing custard and awesome view!

Delicious frozen custard. The berries were very fresh, and also delicious.

Pizza and Custard are both must-haves! Will be back!

Can be a little slow during the picnic, but it is worth the wait. Nice thin crust, fresh ingredients. The rooftop deck offers some of the best views downtown.

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!! I am vegetarian and ordered two veggie pizzas. The cashier entered the wrong pizza and when I let them know they didn’t offer to make me the correct pizza. I was stuck with something I didn’t order plus the crust was burned. Wouldn’t recommend. However, the view up top is amazing so maybe get some ice cream and sit on the roof.

Spanikopita pizza was fantastic!

Over priced. Menu is hard to understand. We ordered 5 small cups of ice cream it came to 36 dollars. The malt shop in Two harbors is a better value and better ice cream.

Very rude workers. They forgot about our order and when we asked for compensation they said they could not do anything for us waiting for over 20 minutes for three items. Extremely overpriced. My dog’s pup cup (which is usually free at other establishments) cost $4.50 for one tiny scoop of vanilla custard.

The Pizza tasted nothing. It was a saltine cracker without the salt. The icecream itself was pretty good, but it seemed overpriced, and instead of "substituting" raspberries for strawberries, they charged an extra dollar. Even though they were the ones out of strawberries. the rooftop view is really nice. No denying that. But the food overall was poor.

Quick to get order even though very busy

Really bad service, rude as can be kids working there. Messed up everyone's orders standing in line and yelled at customers because they were "busy". Out of many ingredients to make sundaes. Won't be back. Prices are high too.

I love custard! We were wandering around Grand Marais and weren't impressed with the look of the world's best donuts, so we decided to come here instead. This was a great choice. We got a sydnami which is custard with the toppings blended into it. We built out own with bananas, caramel, and pecans with vanilla custard since none of the premade ones appealed to me. I loved it. I will say I couldn't taste any caramel or pecans. It tasted like it only had bananas. Maybe the other flavors were more subtle. The custard was smooth and creamy. I will say, it's pretty pricey. Our medium was $9. It was really good, but I feel like the price is a little steep. If you're looking for custard, stop here.

Hygiene practices we not ok and pizza was sub par. Only half the kitchen staff had on masks and there were no hats or hairnets. There were two employees eating out of cups that they kept setting on food prep areas and one worker was using their phone while wearing gloves and then without replacing gloves that had been used while eating and using the phone went and refilled all the silverware and proceeded to get someone’s ice cream order. We asked for some Parmesan for our pizza and the person making pizza first said they didn’t have any, then found the bag of it, scratches their head and then reached in the bag for the cheese. Seconds later we asked them for a plate and they did the same head scratch and grab! It had a unprofessional and unhygienic vibe. I understand there are teens/young adults working there but maybe they could have a bit more Serve Safe training? It’s always been important but especially now with covid!

Rooftop dinning with ice cream, pizza, and beer. Best views in town and they serve sandwiches and also wine. This will always be a stop for me from now on with a large menu including healthy choices. What a fun place for just about anyone.

Pizza is fantastic and the view from the top deck is the best in Grand Marais. I also love that you have Bent Paddle beer on tap, one of my favorite MN beers! Keep up the great work and we'll be back soon.

Overhyped and overpriced in my opinion. A tourist trap- but that is just my personal opinion.

Completely overpriced subpar place. Can get the same thing at the Dairy Queen a block away for half the price. Extremely rude workers that are not wearing masks when making ice cream or handling money. Out of all the wonderful local businesses in Grand Marais, do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

$20 for three small size custards. Took more than twenty minutes to receive and the custard was a soupy mess, not good at all.

Hands down the best custard anywhere. The custard here is the real deal. It's better than any of the national franchises known for custard. Try the vanilla, so you can taste the quality of the product without the other flavors getting in the way, you 'll see what I mean.

A little overpriced but decent. Dont think a scoop and toppings is worth $7.55.

This is a great stop for frozen yogurt treats as well as pizza. Several choices for flavors and toppings. Sundaes, cones, malts, and Sydnamis. (Blizzard) There is a roof top seating area available with great views of the lake. Cash or credit, but $10 min with credit orders. Open til 8pm.

Don't bother with the previous few fear mongering reviews about proper mask wearing. Some of these people just can't wait to look down their mask at you and complain...seriously people. Great little small business, Chicago dog was delicious and the authentic gyro was as well, both very fresh. The waffle cone was good and the custard very tastey and generously proportioned. Keep up the great work!!

Really disappointed to find that a Grand Marais staple like Sydney's seems not to care about public health or safety! All of the employees were wearing their masks below their noses and mouths and getting really close to their customers without their masks as if nothing was wrong. Please get your act together!! We don't wear masks for ourselves, we wear them to PROTECT OTHERS! Protect your customers. Protect your community.

Kinda pricey, but a great stop in Grand Marais to satisfy your sweet tooth. And don't miss the view from the roof! I mean, it's kinda of a hidden gem in that sense.

Excellent food and the shakes are to die for. The roof top patio has spectacular views of Lake Superior. There is also a nice hiking trail close by.

The ice cream was a puddle and few toppings. Not worth the money. Overpriced! DQ is much better and worth the money.

Ordered a chocolate malt. Was frothy not thick and just vanilla custard with a hint of chocolate syrup. Big let down after paying 9+ bucks. Should have went to DQ.
